Question:
Hi! Thanks to everyone for being so accepting and and BIG THANK YOU to Tanya for being so supportive. I have been out ot town for a while but before going found out from the doc that all my blood tests were negative for the Hep a, b and c from the rape!!!!! Praise the Lord. He wants me to give the clonzapam alittle more time to work so I’m gonna stay on them for now. He thinks that so many years of being on xanax and then changing may take some time for my body to adjust. He’s not my reg doc. She’s out of town and I can’t wait for her to get back. Anyway, thanks for being here guys. I really don’t have anyone to talk to that understands. Peace, Sherryl

Hi Sherryl, didn’t read your previous post so don’t know the full story. When I first started medication it was on Xanax and my doctor switched me to clonazepam. It took a while for me to get used to it and I hadn’t been on Xanax for that long. It has helped reduce my anxiety as it stays in my system longer but YMMV. Vanessa
Response:
Hey there Sherryl, I was on Xanax for a lonnnnng time, and was switched to Klonopin because I became habituated to the Xanax, so it lost its’ effectiveness. It was hell, changing, since I had been on Xanax for so long….but like Vanessa, I’m much better off now because the half-life of Klonopin is about 30 hrs. as opposed to Xanax’s 4 hrs. or so. There are many people who can take Xanax and never get habituated, and never need an increase in dose. I just didn’t happen to be one of them. Geeesh, I can relate to you on the hepatitis scare. I had a "lover" who did something to me that I didn’t agree with, and it was unprotected. I guess I’ve never been able to actually call it rape. I threw him out, and never saw him again, but then started worrying about HIV and hepatitis. I had no idea that hepatitis, I can’t remember which one, is incurable. My shrink was much more responsible than my regular doctor, and called her and actually bitched her out because she hadn’t taken the prophylactic measures that they can take. (a med that you can give the next day if someone fears contact with HIV) I didn’t have hepatitis, but I sweated out the tests for HIV for a year, and it felt like I had this possible death sentence hanging over my head. I was very depressed. I never contracted it, so I can imagine how happy you are to find out that you’re not infected. I’m very, very happy for you. Take care, Sharon

wow ! yer welcome… and you are much appreciated, as well. I have been out ot town for a while but before going found out from the doc that all my blood tests were negative for the Hep a, b and c from the rape!!!!! Praise the Lord.
i wasn’t aware of that situation. now that’s a tough one. and congrats on your tests ! waiting on those test results are murder, i’m tested every 6 months and have been for 16 years due to my business, and i still stress out.. and no phone results, ya gotta go in there now… which is even MORE frustrating. Anyway, thanks for being here guys. I really don’t have anyone to talk to that understands.
